Comprehensive Early Childhood Music Program
Parent/Child Music Classes

^Babies (6 mo.-1.5 yrs)   ^Toddlers (1.5-3 yrs)   ^Kids (3-4yrs)

Music Sprouts is an early childhood music program in which every child's innate musicality is nurtured and developed.  In the early years, developmentally appropriate activities are crucial in helping your child develop the skills that he or she will use throughout their lives.  Shirley’s teaching philosophy revolves around a community of learners in which every child’s contribution is heard and every child leaves the music class with a larger sense of self than he or she brought into it.

The bond that develops between parent and child through music is invaluable and natural, since young children innately enjoy music and are music-makers.  Active and fun approach teaches music through singing, movement, and instrument playing.  Your child will begin to learn about musical concepts such as rhythm, pitch, and form.  This is also a great way to build the musical framework that will enhance their learning of an instrument.  Come join us as we share a life-long journey of music-making and enjoyment.

Customer Testimonials

"The parent/child music class has been one of our daughters favorite activities.  She looks forward to class every week and is singing songs and playing instruments at home every day.  Emmalee has always loved music and Shirley has really helped foster that interest.  I have also enjoyed this special time with my daughter.  Shirley's gentle, fun nature provides the perfect environment for every child to grow and parents to feel comfortable."

My daughter started Music Sprouts with Ms. Shirley just after she turned 1 year old.  She is almost 2 now and it's been such a joy to see music become an important part of her development. We've especially enjoyed the developmentally appropriate techniques Ms. Shirley employs. It's such a joy to see my daughter now echo and sing the songs & also beat the drum in rhythm.  Ms. Shirley continues to build on what we did in the "babies" class & now in the "toddlers" class, challenges the students as they grow & can participate more.

And as a mom to an almost 2 year old, it's amazing how music can calm a toddler. If my daughter is ever fussy while eating or about to throw a tantrum, a song from music sprouts is a miraculous cure!

Whenever we get in the car, my daughter shouts, "music class?" We only have class once a week so the answer is mostly no but both my daughter & I would love it if the answer was "yes, music class" every day.
